Being an international hostel is awesome! We
have a lot of guests from all over the world with different cultures, languages
and traditions. They bring with them their life- and traveling-stories and
sometimes also souvenirs (like our Malaysian guests last month – thanks
again^^). Our staff and our helpers are from many different countries, too, and
we’re putting this to use by organizing international parties for our guests
(and ourselves of course^^)
This year, we already had a couple o fun parties,
like e.g. our Australian Party on Australia Day!
(you can find more pictures here)
One of our help staff that time was a chef
with a passion for Ramen. So of course, we had our own Ramen Party!!
And we usually have a couple of Germans
around as parties are most fun when you can dress up, it was just natural to
celebrate the traditional German “Fastnacht”, an old rite from pagan times to expel
the winter and invite spring into the area.

The most recent party was a Polish-Russian.
“Why this mix?” you would ask. Well, Polish and Russian food as well as culture
have many similarities, and with a Polish-German and a Russian-German staff,
that know the cuisine from childhood on, we could have some unique
Polish-Russian-food-mix. And yes, of course we had vodka too!
Another fun mix was the British-Danish-Party.
Now, this mix is less obvious, but it just came about, as we had a British and
a Danish help staff, that would have been leaving soon. So, as well as a
celebration of the British and Danish culture, it was a thank you for our great
help, staff!
And the next party is already planned..... Join us for the French Party!
